Sales tax generally applies on the sale to the end user or ultimate consumer. Sales tax is generally added to the sales price and is charged to the purchaser. Sales tax in its truest definition applies only to intrastate sales where the seller and the customer are located in the same state. Sales taxes are considered “trust taxes” where the seller collects the tax from the customer and remits the collected tax to the appropriate taxing jurisdiction. There are different types of sales taxes imposed by the states. Some states are Seller Privilege Tax states while others are Consumer Tax states.  This determines who is primarily liable for the payment of ...

When the Republican-dominated  Congress  and the Harrison administration enacted the very high  McKinley Tariff  in 1890 and made the surplus in the  treasury  vanish in a massive spending spree, the path to a Democratic victory in  1892  seemed clear. Cleveland won his party’s nomination for the third consecutive time and then soundly defeated Harrison and  Populist  Party candidate  James B. Weaver  by 277 electoral votes to Harrison’s 145, making Cleveland the only  president  ever elected to discontinuous terms. Early in Cleveland’s second term the...

Science. 10D, 11D. 26.01.2022 Topic: Mineral resources Study the text about mineral resources Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves are the basis for the future viability of a mining company’s operations. They form the basis for the mines’ long-term mining plans and are the underlying data for many of the company’s major investments. Mineral Reserves are reduced every year through mining activities and new additions to the Resources and Reserves are, therefore, vital to the viability of the operations. A  Mineral Resource  is a concentration or occurrence of solid material of economic interest in or on the Earth’s crust in such form, grade or quality and quantity that there are reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction. Mineral Resources are subdivided, in order of increasing geological confidence, into Inferred, Indicated and Measured Mineral Resources, as indicated in Figu...

Pace Work. 10D. Science. 31.03.2021 Topic: Simple Organisms Study the theory block Simple Organisms Before it is possible to discuss a living thing, it is necessary to name it. In other words, every organism needs an identity. Thousands of years ago, for example, a Chinese emperor studied, tasted, and named hundreds of herbs used to make medicine. These names made communication about the medicinal plants possible. Later, a Greek philosopher organized animals into two large groups, those with and without red blood. Today, those groups represent the vertebrates and invertebrates. As technology improved, scientists gathered more information, which influenced the classification systems they devised. Today, scientists generally agree upon three broad domains of life. These domains are based on cell types, and they include the Archaea, or Archaebacteria, Bacteria, and Eukarya. The last group, the Eukarya, are divided into four kingdoms-Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia. Microbes Th...
